Russian Federation Air Force flag. USSR air force flag. Flag of the Air Force (VVS) of Russia

The officially approved banner of the Air Force of the Russian Federation (hereinafter aviation flag) is a two-sided rectangular panel blue color. Blue has always symbolized the sky and flying. The width of the flag is 113 centimeters, length - 170, with a margin for attaching the flag to the pole, which is made of the same blue fabric.

The pole of the flag is made of wood, which is painted brown. The shaft has a circular cross section of four centimeters in diameter. The shaft is 2.5 meters long.

Fourteen yellow stripes (the so-called rays) diverge fan-shaped from the center of the flag of aviation in different directions. Four rays are directed diagonally to the corners of the flag, and two rays cross the cloth perpendicular to its sides and end in the middle of the upper and lower edges. The remaining rays are evenly spaced between these main ones.

On the front side of the flag of aviation in the middle is placed the coat of arms of the country in the form of a golden double-headed eagle with outstretched wings raised up. Double-headed eagle - ancient heraldic symbol, which is found everywhere not only in Russia. Its meanings may be different, but, unequivocally, this symbol is associated with the desire to rise and win. Two small crowns are placed above the head of the bird on the coat of arms, and a little higher - one large one. The crowns are connected with a ribbon. In its paws, the eagle holds the symbols of state power: in the right - a scepter, and in the left - orb. A red shield is placed on the chest of the bird, on which a silver rider dressed in a blue cloak is depicted. In his hand, the horseman holds a silver spear, with which he pierces the black dragon, which is thrown to the ground at the hooves of the silver horse.

The reverse side of the aviation flag also contains an image in the middle, which is one of the three official identification marks of the Air Force. The middle emblem of aviation has the same double-headed eagle. The bird keeps its wings outstretched; on the chest of the eagle there is invariably a red shield, shaped like a blade, with the image of a rider who strikes a dragon with a spear. At the paws of the eagle, a silver two-bladed propeller and a cannon barrel are cross-folded: these tools symbolize military aviation. The image of an eagle is crowned with a golden crown.

The width of the coat of arms and emblem on the aviation flag is 80 centimeters.

The staple, pommel, inflow and nail heads of the aviation flag must be golden in color. On the bracket, which in shape is a long rectangle, the name of the type of troops and the date the banner was presented are engraved. The metal pommel is made in the form of a slotted spear, on which a relief image of the Russian coat of arms is engraved.
