Anti-cold products. Products against SARS. The best cold products

This winter, the flu is rampant. And colds are more intrusive than ever. Therefore, it would not hurt to supplement standard treatment methods with tablets and mixtures with products against flu and colds.

Lemon sun

For colds - a time-tested remedy. Impact doses of vitamin C will strengthen the immune system, and special volatile substances will destroy bacteria. Lemon works wonders when combined with ginger and honey. Grate 300 g of ginger root and pass the lemon and peel through a meat grinder. Mix them into a paste, add 150 g of honey and close it in a jar with a lid. Take this medicine 1 tsp. 3 times a day - and the cold will go away faster.

Life-giving broth

Chicken broth gently relieves inflammation and is merciless against viruses. Fill the chicken carcass with water and bring to a boil, constantly collecting the foam. Place a whole onion, parsley roots, a clove of garlic, ½ celery root and sliced carrots into the pan. Cook the broth for 2 hours, and 10 minutes before the end add ½ chili pepper, bay leaf and salt. Take out the chicken, onion and bay, and grind the remaining ingredients. This broth will quickly put patients back on their feet.

Healthy Mind

Garlic is a product that destroys the runny nose, and with it pathogenic microbes. Pass the garlic through a press and mix with honey in equal proportions. This medicine is taken 1 tsp. before bed, with water. You can also grind garlic with olive oil in a 1:1 ratio. This mixture is rubbed into the skin under the nose. After the first uses, breathing will become easier. The only unpleasant, but quite tolerable side effect is the specific smell of garlic.

Clean Breath

An effective product for a runny nose is beets, or rather their juice. Active substances remove mucus from the nasal cavity and carefully relieve swelling of the mucous membrane. Scald the root vegetable with boiling water and peel it. Grate the beets, squeeze out the juice and dilute it with warm boiled water in a ratio of 1:3. The juice is instilled 1-2 drops into each nostril three times a day. This product is safe even for children, unless, of course, they have allergies.

Pot of honey

If you are tormented by a cough, black radish with its miraculous essential oils will help you. We choose a larger root vegetable, cut off a little peel from the top, cut out a hole and fill it with honey. Ideally, the radish should be left to steep overnight. If treatment is required immediately, wait at least 2-3 hours. Take the medicine 1 tbsp. l. before eating. Don’t forget to add honey to the radish, and after 3 days make a new “pot”.

Sweet couple

Dates plus milk are a killer combination of products against colds, especially lingering dry coughs. We wash 5-7 dried dates, remove the seeds, knead them slightly and pour a glass of milk. Gently bring them to a boil and cook for 10 minutes over low heat. The finished decoction should be drunk immediately, and the dates themselves should be eaten. It's best to do this before bed. The next morning you will feel the long-awaited relief.

The power of the tropics

Everyone is familiar with a sore throat during a cold. Bananas will get rid of it the fastest. Thanks to their delicate texture, they envelop the mucous membrane and relieve soreness. Mash the banana with a fork, add 1 tsp. cocoa and pour a glass of milk. Stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil and immediately remove from heat. The combination will be strengthened by 2-3 chopped dried figs. Drink this cocktail hot - the effect will not take long to appear.

Bright head

What headache foods help with colds? There is no equal to almonds here. The magnesium it contains brings blood pressure back to normal and the pain goes away. Grind 100 g of dried nuts into coarse crumbs and mix with honey to form a viscous mass. If you wish, you can add a pinch of ginger and cinnamon to it. Store this medicine in a glass jar, take it as needed, and your headache will go away.

Raspberry coolness

The eternal companion of the flu is high fever. As a child, our grandmothers and mothers knocked it down with tea and raspberries. And they did it right, because raspberries have an antipyretic effect. Pour a glass of boiling water over a handful of dry berries and leave in a glass container for 20 minutes. The infusion is drunk while still hot and the procedure is repeated for 3–4 hours. Raspberries not only relieve fever and inflammation, but also kill pathogenic bacteria.

Curly immunity

It’s not for nothing that doctors call it a product against diseases, any kind. No vegetable or fruit has such reserves of vitamin C. In combination with other active substances, they increase the body's immunity. Boil 300 g of broccoli florets in salted water and sprinkle them with a mixture of 2 tbsp. l. olive oil, 1 tsp. wine vinegar, a pinch of coriander and cumin. This simple snack will quickly help you get back to your senses.

Remember, at the first symptoms of the flu, you should immediately consult a doctor - only he will prescribe the right treatment. If you are completely healthy, include foods from our rating in your diet, then the likelihood of getting sick will become much less.

The cold weather receded - and then flu and colds made themselves known. It is not during frost, but during thaw that the risk of catching the virus is highest. And if you are unable to protect yourself from infection, you must, in addition to pharmaceutical mixtures and powders, carefully consider the structure of your diet. It is worth focusing on those products that promote antiviral protection and strengthen the immune system, and, therefore, help the body and prevent the development of complications. And you will recover faster.

10 rules for eating when you have a cold

Rule 1. Energy for the body

When you have a cold, the need for energy increases, which is primarily provided by easily digestible carbohydrates. Therefore, it is necessary to include oatmeal, rice and semolina porridge, drinks with honey, sweet fruits and juices from them into the diet.

Rule 2. More proteins

With a lack of protein, the synthesis of digestive enzymes and antibodies is disrupted, and the bactericidal activity of blood serum decreases. Therefore, the daily amount of protein for colds should be at least 1 g/kg body weight. In this case, it is desirable that these are animal proteins. Because plant proteins may lack some amino acids, which can lead to disruption of protein synthesis, including those necessary for immunity. Milk, lactic acid products, cottage cheese, lean meats, fish and poultry, and eggs are used as sources of animal protein.

Particular attention should be paid to chicken broth. Due to the presence of essential amino acids in chicken meat, this dish is a wonderful stimulator of mucus production, which makes sputum less viscous and makes coughing easier during colds.

In addition, it is necessary to enrich the diet with foods rich in glutathione. Glutathione enhances the activity of the immune system. This powerful antioxidant is found in large quantities in garlic, onions, veal, spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and walnuts.

Rule 3. and less fat!

Among animal fats, preference can only be given to dairy products and butter. Moreover, butter and vegetable oil (up to 10 g) should be added to prepared dishes, and not used for frying.

Rule 4. Carbohydrates must be “correct”

Simple carbohydrates need to be increased in the diet. Drink juices, vegetable decoctions, jelly, compotes, tea with honey, lemon, jam. Limit only foods that enhance fermentation processes in the intestines (grapes, pears) and contain coarse fiber (fresh white cabbage).

Rule 5. Vitamins

During infections, the body's need for vitamins increases significantly. Vitamins that affect the immune system are especially valuable.

First of all, this vitamin C, which enhances the phagocytic and bacterial activity of macrophages, stimulates the T-system of cellular immunity, and has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator effects. Among the source products of ascorbic acid, you need to consume black currants (can be frozen), sauerkraut (by the way, the maximum amount of ascorbic acid is found not in the cabbage itself, but in the brine), rosehip infusion, and sweet red pepper every day.

Vitamin A has an immunostimulating effect by accelerating the proliferation of lymphocytes and activating phagocytosis. Food sources of vitamin A: liver, egg yolk, butter, hard cheeses. During the cold period, foods rich in beta-carotene should be introduced into the diet: dried apricots, carrots, asparagus, beets, broccoli, melon, mango, peaches, pink grapefruit, pumpkin, tangerines, tomatoes, watermelon).

Vitamin B2(riboflavin) improves the state of humoral and cellular immunity by participating in tissue respiration. Vitamin B2 is found in large quantities in yeast, almonds, cheeses, eggs, and cottage cheese.

Vitamin B6(pyridoxine) improves immunity primarily due to its active participation in protein metabolism. Food sources of pyridoxine: offal, meat, beans, soybeans, yeast, beans, rice, millet, buckwheat, potatoes.

Vitamin D increases the body's immune defense. Food sources of vitamin D: liver oil of fish and marine animals, salmon, herring, mackerel, caviar, tuna, egg, cream, sour cream.

Rule 6. Macro-useful microelements

Among the microelements, zinc is the most important for the immune system. Scientific studies have shown that regularly consuming foods containing zinc during the early stages of a cold reduces the duration of symptoms. Sprouted wheat grains are rich in zinc (contains 12 mg of zinc per 100 g), beef liver (8.4 mg per 100 g), pork liver (5.9 mg per 100 g), lentils (5 mg per 100 g. ), as well as eggs, beef, nuts, seafood, flax and sunflower seeds.

Legumes, sesame, and peanuts also contain a lot of zinc, but it is associated with phytic acid, which reduces its absorption and absorption. The daily requirement for zinc is 15-25 mg.

Rule 7. Salt and liquid - in moderation

Table salt is limited to 8-10 g/day, but with significant sodium losses (through sweat), the amount of salt is increased to 12-15 g/day. Also, during fever, you need to drink a large amount of free fluid (2-2.5 l/day).

Rule 8. Stimulate appetite

When you have a cold, it is important to maintain your appetite, so you can sometimes include those foods and dishes that the patient likes, and not offer those that require effort from weakened digestion (tough parts of meat, hard varieties of raw apples, chicken with skin).

Rule 9. Cognac?

If you tolerate alcohol well, try adding 30-40 ml of cognac to your tea; Cahors, natural red or white wines mixed with water are also suitable. In the absence of good natural wines, you can use vodka or 25% alcohol.

Rule 10. No crispy crust!

When cooking food, use only boiling in water or steaming. Frying and baking until crusty in the oven is prohibited. The temperature of cold dishes should be no lower than 15 °C, hot food - no higher than 65 °C. Meals should be divided, 5-6 times a day, in small portions at a time.

The best cold products

Garlic

The most effective product for flu and colds is garlic. Allicin contained in garlic cloves successfully destroys not only influenza viruses, but also other harmful bacteria and fungi. If you don’t like the sharp taste of garlic too much, you can cut its cloves and swallow these pieces without chewing, or you can mix grated garlic with butter and use it for sandwiches, or by mixing mashed garlic with linden honey (1:1), take it tablespoon with water. You can use horseradish juice with honey diluted with water (1: 1: 1) to prevent the flu and also take a tablespoon per day.

Onion

An ancient Russian recipe is “onion antigrippin”: for this you need to grate an onion, pour in 0.5 liters of boiling milk, leave for 20 minutes and drink half a glass warm at night. But remember that horseradish, onions and garlic should be taken with extreme caution for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, enteritis, pancreatitis).

Pepper

Capsaicin contained in hot red pepper and piperine in black pepper also have an antiviral effect and stimulate the respiratory system, and therefore, adding small amounts to main dishes during a cold will be useful. Capsaicin activates blood circulation, improves lymph outflow, reduces the formation of mucus, dilates the bronchi - has a bronchodilator and mucolytic effect, which is important for facilitating coughing during colds.

Anti-cold drinks

Tea with spices

Tea with coriander, cinnamon and ginger has a whole bunch of useful substances, which have an antiviral effect, and also stimulate sweating and make breathing easier. To prepare this healing drink, boil two tablespoons of grated fresh ginger in two glasses of water for 15 minutes, add a pinch of coriander and cinnamon, and let steep for another 10 minutes. Drink one third of a glass three times a day.

Mint infusion

American scientists recommend the following recipe for an anti-cold drink: pour a teaspoon of peppermint into a glass of boiling water, heat for 3-5 minutes over low heat, strain, add a teaspoon of honey, a finely chopped clove of garlic and juice from a quarter of a lemon and drink the warm infusion at night. You need to drink at least one glass a day.

Aloe honey

A drink made from aloe and honey is very useful during the flu period. To prepare it, take the lower leaves of aloe (at least 3-5 years old), keep it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, wash it, squeeze out the juice and mix it with honey in a ratio of 1: 2. It is necessary to leave the mixture in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, then take a tablespoon 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

  • 2nd breakfast: steam omelette, rosehip decoction
  • Lunch: pureed vegetable soup with chicken broth (half portion), steamed meat balls, rice porridge (half portion), pureed compote

What does autumn mean to you? For me, autumn means yellow leaves swirling under my feet. But besides the leaves and a slightly gloomy sky, my colleagues also remind me of autumn.

The fact is that with the arrival of autumn, around September-October, the number of sneezing and coughing employees increases sharply. It cannot be said that such heroism was highly valued by the authorities in England. Against. The most sensitive bosses try to stay away from such zealous workers. More direct ones may ask: “Darling, I think you’re not feeling well. Maybe it's better for you to take sick leave? Ah, you feel good. Then maybe consider working from home?”
Although, it’s certainly more fun with a team. And it’s better to sneeze in unison. Perhaps that is why every year we take turns getting sick with the same viruses.

Everyone probably fights viruses differently. Some people get vaccinated, like my parents. Someone takes vitamins. I try to eat more foods that strengthen the immune system.

Nutritionists call the following foods strengthening the immune system:

  1. Pumpkin seeds and oatmeal are rich in zinc. And studies say that it is zinc that helps fight colds. The fact is that zinc has antimicrobial properties and therefore helps our white cells effectively fight colds.
  2. It is also believed that vitamin E is important not only for the skin, but also for the immune system. Vitamin E can be found in nuts (especially almonds), avocados and olive oil.
  3. Mushrooms, eggs and fish contain vitamin D. And this is another important vitamin for the immune system.
  4. Rye bread, lentils, brown rice and buckwheat contain B vitamins. And B vitamins also play an important role in a healthy immune system.
  5. Vitamin C is known to be an important vitamin for overall health and a strong immune system. First of all, because vitamin C stimulates the production and activity of white blood cells. Therefore, it's time to eat more citrus fruits. By the way, red peppers also contain a large amount of vitamin C. Vitamin C can also be found in broccoli, spinach and pumpkin.
  6. Berries (fresh or frozen), Cabbage, onions and garlic are excellent sources of antioxidants, which will also help strengthen the immune system.

Well, traditionally, I offer a recipe for an autumn salad, which contains almost all of the listed vitamins and minerals.

Autumn Salad

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin 1 kg
  • Mushrooms 200 grams
  • 1 red onion
  • Lentils 70 grams
  • Almonds 50 grams
  • Pumpkin seeds 30 grams
  • Beetroot 300 grams
  • Balsamic vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Basil 1 teaspoon
  • Salt 3/4 teaspoon

Sauce:

  • Soy sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Maple syrup (or honey) 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil 45 ml
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Dill 5 grams
  • Dried cranberries or raisins 50 grams

Cooking method:

1. Cut the pumpkin and beets into small pieces. Cut the red onion into half rings. Slice the mushrooms.
2. Place the pumpkin on a baking sheet, pour in olive oil (1 tablespoon), add a little salt and sprinkle with basil. Mix well.
3. Place mushrooms with onions and beets on another baking sheet. Drizzle them with balsamic vinegar, add olive oil, salt and basil.
4. Bake both baking sheets in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Pumpkin and mushrooms with onions should be ready after 25-30 minutes (the exact time depends on your oven). The beets take longer to bake, about 50 minutes (you'll know they're done if they pierce fairly easily with a fork).
5. At the same time, cook the lentils until tender (the water must be salted).
6. Make the sauce: mix olive oil, soy sauce, squeezed lemon juice and maple syrup (or honey). Add finely chopped dill, cranberries, toasted almonds and pumpkin seeds. Mix.

Citrus.

Broccoli alone contains twice as much vitamin C as citrus fruits, and in terms of carotene content it is on par with pumpkin and carrots. To prepare broccoli in cream sauce , take a medium head of cabbage and divide it into inflorescences. Grate 150 g of cheese and mix with a glass of heavy cream. Place the cabbage in a fireproof bowl and pour the cream mixture over it. Salt, pepper and bake in the oven for half an hour.

Lard with garlic is not only a recipe for Ukrainian cuisine, but also a well-known preventive remedy. Grind 2 heads of garlic - in a garlic press or on a grater. Grind the garlic with coarse salt, grate the resulting mixture with 1 kg of lard. It is better to first cut the lard into four pieces. Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1/2 cup of water. Soak a square of white cloth in water and wrap the lard. Place the bundle in a container and hide it in the refrigerator. After 2-3 days you can eat.

Italian seasoning gremolata Any Russian can easily prepare it. To do this, just chop a bunch of parsley and 5 cloves of garlic. Then add the zest of 2 lemons (the peel contains the maximum vitamins). Mix all ingredients and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Variations on the theme allow you to add pepper, salt, and herbs. Gremolata, fish, is added to roasts (at the end of cooking) and to stewed vegetables. It can be eaten simply with bread. The most benefit comes from seasoning that has not undergone heat treatment.

Nuclear mix "Bogatyr" (take during the epidemic, as well as at the first symptoms). For preparation, you need products that are traditionally used to treat colds. Take 2 lemons and remove the seeds from them. Grind the lemons in a meat grinder (chopper) along with the peel, then chop the head of garlic and mix with the lemon mixture. Add 150 g of honey, mix well. Transfer the mixture into a jar and refrigerate. Take 1 teaspoon 3 times a day after meals without drinking. Caution: the mix is not suitable for a sick stomach.

Viburnum jelly (increasing immunity):

According to the recipe for viburnum jelly, you can prepare cranberry jelly - it has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties, the main thing is that heat treatment is kept to a minimum.

During illness you need to drink a lot. For example, ginger tea. Like cranberry, ginger is an effective antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent. To prepare, boil 1.2 liters of water, add 3 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger and 5 tablespoons of honey.

Stir and strain the drink, trying to squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the ginger. Add a pinch of black pepper and 4 tablespoons of lemon or orange juice. You can add some fresh mint. Drink hot.
