My household chores - (4)

Doing household chores is an essential part of our daily life. Everybody wants to come back home after school or work and enjoy the quiet and cozy atmosphere of home. So, cleaning the house is a responsibility of the whole family. Our family is not an exception. We share our household chores to help each other.

As far as I am concerned, I have some household duties. Well, since childhood I got used to wash the dishes after meals. However, recently, my dad has bought a new dishwasher. So, now 1 just load or empty it. Sometimes 1 help my mom with cooking and clear or lay the table. As I am a good cook, I often bake cakes or pies. We have lots of plants at home. That's why I regularly water them. 1 also take out the garbage and walk with my dog. Moreover, I always make the bed and clean up my room.

My mom's main responsibility is cooking. She always buys only fresh and healthy products which don't contain any chemical activities. I think that home-made meals are the tastiest. Besides, my mom does the laundry and vacuums the carpet. Twice a year she does spring and fall cleaning. She cleans the windows, arranges lots of items in the wardrobe and paints the ceiling.

My dad is a handy man. He is well at home repairs of all kinds. Last year he refurbished our apartment. He hung wallpapers, installed floor tiles and painted the walls.

There are some chores that we do together. At weekends we always go shopping for food or clothes. It is our family tradition. We prefer huge shopping malls like IKEA, where we spend the whole day. We always have a lot of fun.

My household chores (4)

Carrying out household chores is an integral part of any person’s life. After all, everyone wants to return home after work or school and enjoy a quiet, cozy home atmosphere. So, cleaning the house is the responsibility of the whole family. Our family is no exception. We always share our responsibilities around the house to help each other.

Personally, I have household responsibilities. So, from childhood I was taught to wash the dishes after eating. However, my dad recently bought a dishwasher, and now all I have to do is load and unload it. Sometimes I help my mother cook and set or clear the table. Since I am a good cook, I often bake cakes or pies. We have a lot of flowers at home, so I water them regularly. I also take out the trash and walk the dog. Besides, I always make my bed and clean my room.

My mother's main responsibility is cooking. She always buys only fresh, healthy food that does not contain chemicals. I believe that homemade food- the tastiest. In addition, my mother washes clothes and vacuums carpets. Twice a year she does a spring cleaning: she washes the windows, tidies up the closet and paints the ceiling.

My father has skillful hands. He knows how to do any repairs. So, last year he renovated our apartment. He hung wallpaper, laid tiles on the floor and painted the walls. There are some responsibilities that we all perform together. On weekends we always go shopping for food or clothes. This is our family tradition. We love big hypermarkets like IKEA, where we spend all day. It always brings a lot of pleasure and joy.

I am often asked to write a story about my family in English at school. It is often difficult for a child to write a large text while maintaining the correct structure and English language. This article will help you write a story about your family.

Story structure

The story about my family must begin correctly. It should have an introductory part (very short), a main part that contains all the information, and a conclusion, also quite short.

The first paragraph is the introductory part. It can start with the following phrase:

I would like to give a talk about my family. (I would like to talk about my family.)

This is where the first paragraph can end.

The second paragraph is the entire main part of the essay. A story about a family in English depends on this paragraph. After all, here you need to tell in detail about your family. Points to be covered in the main part:

  • To say, a small family or a large one.
  • Name all family members and tell about each one separately.
  • Say that your family is very friendly.
  • Talk about common hobbies and pastimes.

In order to write the main part, you must use the following introductory phrases:

I think/suppose/presume/believe/guess... (I think/suppose/believe/believe)

In my opinion,... (In my opinion,...)

However,... (Be that as it may...)

Fortunately,... (Fortunately,...)

The third paragraph is the conclusion. This paragraph should indicate that your story is finished. This can be done with a very competent phrase:

That"s all I wanted to say. (That's all I wanted to tell you about).

Writing the main part of the story

A story about a family in English should start with a description of the size of your family. For example, if you have a large family, you need to say:

I have got a big family or My family is very big. (I have a big family. My family is very big.)

If your family consists of 4 or less people, then it is considered small. Then you need to say:

I have a small family or My family is not very big. (I have a small family. My family is small.)

The story about my family needs to be supplemented by listing all relatives:

My family consists of a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a grandmother, a grandfather, an aunt, an uncle... (My family consists of mom, dad, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt etc.)

My mother's name is... (mother's name). I suppose that she is very beautiful and kind. She is 30 years old. She is a doctor. My mother is fond of reading classical books and watching interesting movies. (My Mom's name is... I think she is very beautiful and kind. She is 30 years old. She works as a doctor. My mother likes to read classics and watch interesting films.)

The father of the family can be described as follows:

My father"s name is... (dad's name). I think that he is very tall man with beautiful gray-eyes. He is very hard-working man. He is 40 years old. He is an engineer. I think that he likes his interesting job so much. My father likes to go to the cinema with me. (My dad's name is... I think he is a very tall man with handsome gray eyes. He is very hardworking. He's 40 years old. He works as an engineer. I think he really enjoys his interesting job. My dad likes to go to the cinema with me.)

A story about a family in English can turn out to be quite lengthy if you describe each relative in detail (this is the case if your family is very large). If it consists of three relatives, then you can tell about each family member in some detail and your story will not turn out to be too long and uninteresting.

After describing your relatives, do not forget to say that you are very friendly:

My family is very friendly. (My family is very friendly.)

Our family is very united and happy. (Our family is very friendly and happy.)

The story about my family must be supplemented with information about what you and your relatives are doing. For example:

I like to go fishing with my father. (I like to go fishing with my dad.)

When we have a free time, we always spend it together. (When we have free time, we always spend it together.)

I like to go to the park or to the cinema with me lovely sister. (I like to go to the park or to the cinema with my beloved sister.)

My mother and I like to watch interesting movies. (Mom and I like to watch interesting films.)

about family

A story about a family in English with translation might look like this:

I would like to give a talk about my lovely family.

My family is not very big. It consists of a mother, father and me. My mother's name is Kate. She is 35 years old. As for me, she is very beautiful. My mother has very beautiful blue eyes and brown hair. She is a blogger. She likes her profession so much because she can write something interesting about her life and earn money. In fact, she is very popular in our town. What about my father, his name is Bob. He is 40 years old. He is very tall, at about 180 cm. He is a cook. He works in a big restaurant, specialized on French cuisine. As for me, his job is very interesting. Our family is very united and happy. I like to do various things with my parents. For example, we often go to the shopping together In summer we go to the sea. I love my family so much!

That's all I wanted to say.
