Mastodinon is a herbal medicinal product used for symptomatic treatment as part of complex therapy of premenstrual syndrome, mastopathy, as well as infertility and menstrual disorders caused by insufficiency of the corpus luteum.

Mastodinon - composition and release forms

Currently, Mastodinon is available in two dosage forms - tablets and drops for oral administration. Both Mastodinon tablets and drops contain the same active ingredients, which are extracts or other preparations of medicinal herbs, such as:
  • Agnus castus (Abraham's tree) – 162 mg in one tablet and 20 g in 100 ml drops;
  • Caulophyllum thalictroides (Cohosh) – 81 mg per tablet and 10 g per 100 ml drops;
  • Cyclamen (Cyclamen) – 81 mg per tablet and 10 g per 100 ml drops;
  • Ignatia (Chilibukha) – 81 mg per tablet and 10 g per 100 ml drops;
  • Iris (Iris) – 162 mg per tablet and 20 mg per 100 ml drops;
  • Lilium tigrinum (Lily) – 81 mg per tablet and 10 g per 100 ml drops.
As auxiliary components, Mastodinon tablets contain potato starch, magnesium stearate and lactose, and drops contain only ethyl alcohol of 47 - 53% concentration.

Mastodinon tablets have a round, flattened cylinder shape and are beige in color with light brown inclusions. Available in packs of 60 or pieces. Mastodinon drops are a homogeneous transparent solution, yellowish in color and having a specific aroma. During storage, the solution may become slightly cloudy or a small amount of sediment may form. Drops are available in dark glass bottles of 50 or 100 ml.

Therapeutic and pharmacological action

Mastodinone is a herbal preparation, and its pharmacological and therapeutic properties are due to the effects of the medicinal herbs included in the composition.

The main pharmacological action of Mastodinon is dopaminergic. This means that the drug enhances the production of dopamine in brain structures and accelerates the functioning of the corresponding receptors. Under the influence of accelerated dopamine metabolism in the pituitary gland, the production of the hormone prolactin decreases, which, in turn, is a direct stimulator of the synthesis of various gonadotropic hormones, such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), etc. Against the background of a decrease in the production of prolactin, its excessive influence is reduced and the synthesis of gonadotropic hormones that regulate the functioning of the woman’s genital organs (ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes) is normalized. The final result of the pharmacological effect of Mastodinon is the normalization of the menstrual cycle and the elimination of infertility caused by excessive secretion of prolactin and the associated deficiency of the corpus luteum.

In addition, as a result of a decrease in prolactin production, a favorable state occurs for the reverse development of fibrocystic mastopathy. However, involution and disappearance of mastopathy occurs with continuous use of Mastodinon for at least 6 weeks, since the reduced level of prolactin production must persist for exactly this period of time.

Indications for use

Mastodinon tablets and drops have the same indications for use, such as:
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), manifested by the following disorders - engorgement and painful sensation of tension in the mammary glands, mental lability (mood swings, changeable emotions, etc.), constipation, migraines or headaches;
  • Fibrocystic mastopathy;
  • Menstrual irregularities caused by insufficiency of the corpus luteum;
  • Infertility caused by insufficiency of the corpus luteum.
It should be remembered that Mastodinon drops and tablets are recommended for use as part of complex therapy in combination with other medications.

Mastodinon - instructions for use

General provisions for treatment with Mastodinon

Mastodinon drops and tablets are taken orally with a small amount of water (half a glass is enough).

If a woman becomes pregnant while using Mastodinon drops or tablets, the drug should be stopped immediately. It is optimal to use various methods of birth control during the entire course of treatment with Mastodinon, and plan conception 1 to 3 months after discontinuation of the drug.

Since Mastodinon drops contain alcohol, they should not be used by people suffering from liver disease, brain disease, epilepsy, or after successful treatment for alcoholism.

Other medicines intended to treat the same conditions can be used at the same time as Mastodinon. Moreover, the use of Mastodinon in combination with other drugs as part of complex treatment has a more pronounced and lasting therapeutic effect.

However, smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages does not reduce the therapeutic effect of Mastodinon drops or tablets. Therefore, theoretically, during the course of treatment with Mastodinon, you can not give up bad habits if it causes too much psychological and physical discomfort.

If a woman continues to have vague and recurring complaints for 2 to 3 weeks, she should stop taking Mastodinon and consult a doctor.

Mastodinon does not change the reaction rate when used in therapeutic dosages, therefore, during the course of treatment, a woman can drive a car, work with machinery, or engage in other activities that require attentiveness and composure.

Mastodinon - before or after meals?

Mastodinon drops and tablets are recommended to be taken either 15 - 30 minutes before meals, or 1 - 1.5 hours after. There are no differences between taking Mastodinon before or after meals at the specified times, so you can choose a regimen that is convenient for you.

Mastodinon drops - instructions for use

The bottle of solution must be shaken before each use to remove sediment. The presence of a small amount of sediment and turbidity in the Mastodinon solution does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

The solution for mastopathy, PMS and fertility disorders must be taken twice a day, 30 drops, for at least three months. During the period of menstrual bleeding, taking Mastodinon is not interrupted. Drops can be diluted in a small amount of water or washed down. However, to reduce the unpleasant bitter taste, it is recommended to dissolve the drops in water, tea, juice, fruit drink or compote. It is optimal to take the drops in the morning and evening.

Symptoms are relieved, and the woman’s condition improves after an average of 6 weeks of continuous use of Mastodinon drops. If after completion of therapy the symptoms of the disease reappear, you should consult a doctor.

Mastodinon tablets - instructions for use

For any indication, it is necessary to take one tablet twice a day for at least three months. The tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and washed down with a small amount of water. The course of treatment with Mastodinon should be continuous, that is, there is no need to take breaks during menstruation. Typically, improvement and relief of symptoms occurs after 6 weeks of taking the drug. If symptoms reappear after completion of therapy, you should consult a doctor.

Overdose

An overdose of Mastodinon drops and tablets has never been recorded during the entire period of widespread clinical use of the drug.

Drug interactions

Drug interactions between Mastodinon tablets and drops are possible only when used simultaneously with dopamine receptor antagonists (for example, Ganaton, Itomed, Domelium, Domperidone, etc.), which weaken their effect.

Taking Mastodinon – what to choose: drops or tablets

If for some reason a woman wants to completely eliminate alcohol consumption or ethyl alcohol is contraindicated for her, then only Mastodinon tablets should be used. Also, tablets are preferable in the presence of any diseases of the liver, brain, epilepsy or a tendency to alcoholism. However, the tablets are contraindicated if you are intolerant to milk sugar, since they contain lactose as an auxiliary component. In this case, you should choose drops.

Otherwise, there are no differences between drops and tablets, and two dosage forms have been created exclusively for the convenience of women. For example, if someone is uncomfortable or uncomfortable taking pills, they can replace them with drops without loss or reduction in effectiveness. Due to the individual characteristics of the body and psychology, some women find it more convenient and comfortable to use drops, since they are better tolerated, while others, on the contrary, use tablets. If there are no diseases or conditions that require the use of one or another dosage form, then you can choose any one that you like more for subjective reasons.

Some women recommend drops because they subjectively tolerate them better than tablets. Other patients, on the contrary, prefer tablets because they feel they are more effective than drops. That is, you can and should choose the dosage form of Mastodinon solely according to your own characteristics, guided by personal preferences and feelings.

Mastodinon during pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Mastodinon drops and tablets are contraindicated for use. If a woman becomes pregnant during a course of treatment with Mastodinon, she should immediately stop taking the drug as soon as pregnancy becomes known.

Mastodinon for mastopathy

Mastodinon can only be used for the treatment of benign fibrocystic mastopathy of any size. Do not use the drug in the presence of malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands of any stage.

For the most effective treatment of mastopathy, Mastodinon can be taken in combination with other medications, without adjusting the regimen, dosage and duration of therapy.

Mastodinon is taken 30 drops or one tablet twice a day, for at least three months without breaks. Improvement is usually felt after 6 weeks of using the drug. However, admission continues until complete or significant involution of the formation, determined by the results of ultrasound or mammography. The drug is suitable for long-term use, so a continuous course can be continued until the desired result is achieved. You can also take Mastodinon in regular courses with short breaks between them. The optimal tactics are selected by the doctor together with the woman.

While taking Mastodinon, the unpleasant symptoms of mastopathy (pain, tightness in the chest, discharge of fluid from the nipples, etc.) should gradually decrease and disappear. If this does not happen, then you need to consult a doctor. You should also consult with your doctor about resuming use of Mastodinon if complaints recur after discontinuation of the drug.

Does Mastodinon help you get pregnant?

If difficulties with conception are caused solely by insufficiency of the corpus luteum (the second phase of the menstrual cycle), then Mastodinon can help you get pregnant, since it normalizes the production of sex hormones, thereby eliminating the cause of infertility.

If the inability to conceive, in addition to the insufficiency of the corpus luteum, is associated with some other factors, for example, lack of ovulation, low sperm quality and others, then Mastodinon will not help you get pregnant.

In order to determine whether a woman has corpus luteum deficiency, it is necessary to determine the concentration of hormones (prolactin, FSH, LH) in the blood. If the level of prolactin is elevated, then we are talking about a deficiency of the corpus luteum, which can be eliminated by taking Mastodinon, thereby normalizing hormonal levels and creating conditions for pregnancy. In such a situation, Mastodinon will help you get pregnant, but in case of infertility caused by other reasons, the drug will be ineffective.

This means that Mastodinon helps you get pregnant only if you have a specific problem, and not in all cases. Therefore, women suffering from infertility should not take Mastodinon just like that, for reasons of “what if it helps”, because despite its natural composition, the drug is very powerful, since it affects the production of hormones that regulate the functioning of the ovaries, and therefore can only aggravate the situation when used not on purpose.

Mastodinon and delayed menstruation

Some women who took Mastodinon for various diseases noted the presence of delayed menstruation and prolongation of the cycle. This situation is associated with the individual reaction of the woman’s body to the drug, which is physiological and does not require any special treatment. Gynecologists believe that delayed menstruation is not associated with taking Mastodinon, but is caused solely by stress or other reasons. That is, a delay in menstruation is not a factor that requires stopping the drug.

In addition, by normalizing the second phase of the menstrual cycle, Mastodinon restores a woman’s fertility, which increases her chances of pregnancy. Accordingly, a woman can become pregnant, which, in turn, will cause a delay in menstruation. Moreover, based on clinical observations, we can conclude that women quite often become pregnant while taking Mastodinon.

Therefore, if a woman takes Mastodinon and has unprotected sex, then if menstruation is delayed, she should first take a pregnancy test.

Side effects

Mastodinon in any dosage form is usually well tolerated by women and rarely causes side effects. The most common side effects of Mastodinon drops and tablets are various allergic reactions. In very rare cases, Mastodinon may cause the following adverse reactions:
  • Increase in body weight within 1 – 3 kg;
  • Itchy exanthema;
  • Acne on the skin of the face and body;
  • Headache;
  • Transient psychomotor agitation;
  • Temporary confusion and hallucinations.
If a woman notices the appearance of psychomotor agitation, confusion or hallucinations while taking Mastodinon, then she should discontinue the drug and consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Contraindications for use

Mastodinon drops and tablets are contraindicated for use if a woman has the following diseases or conditions:
  • Pregnancy;
  • Breastfeeding period;
  • Hypersensitivity to any components of the drug;
  • The girl's age is under 12 years;
  • Malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands;
  • Lactose intolerance caused by hereditary galactose intolerance, genetic lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose and galactose (only for tablets, since they contain lactose as auxiliary components).

Mastodinon - analogues

Currently, on the pharmaceutical market of the CIS countries there are only drugs analogues of Mastodinon, which have similar therapeutic effects, but contain other active components. There are no synonymous drugs that contain exactly the same active substances as Mastodinon on the pharmaceutical market.

So, the following drugs are analogues of Mastodinon:

Mastodinon - reviews

Women take Mastodinon in the vast majority of cases for two conditions - mastopathy and premenstrual syndrome with painful periods. However, since they are often combined, or women, taking the drug for one reason, notice its positive effect on the menstrual cycle or breast condition, it is almost impossible to separate the reviews thematically. Therefore, let’s look at the general reviews about Mastodinon, which are positive in approximately 70% of cases and negative in 30% of cases.

Positive reviews about Mastodinon are associated with its ability to eliminate pain and tension in the chest, as well as reduce the volume of fibrocystic mastopathy. Thus, women noted that with the use of Mastodinon, the pain in the mammary glands went away, swelling was eliminated and, accordingly, the quality of life improved, since it became possible to walk normally, play sports, sleep in a comfortable position and generally touch the breasts without expecting severe pain . With a course of use (from 3 to 6 months), the volume of fibrocystic mastopathy, as a rule, decreases, less often disappears completely or does not change. After several repeated courses of taking Mastodinon, according to reviews, mastopathy completely disappears and the achieved effect remains for a long period of time.

Also, positive reviews about Mastodinon are associated with its ability to eliminate premenstrual syndrome, reduce pain during menstruation and normalize the cycle. Many women note that the drug was taken for mastopathy, but as a pleasant “side effect” it normalized the cycle and made menstruation painless and short. However, all patients note that for the effect to appear, Mastodinon must be taken for a long time, since the drug is homeopathic.

The advantages of Mastodinon for women include effectiveness, a convenient bottle dispenser with drops, natural composition, increased appetite, weight gain, as well as a small number of contraindications and side effects. Patients consider the disadvantages of the drug to be relatively high cost, unpleasant taste and the need for long-term use.

Negative reviews about Mastodinon were left by women for whom the drug did not help eliminate the problem. However, a characteristic quality of even negative reviews is their goodwill, since women indicate that Mastodinon did not help them, but for many others, drops or tablets turned out to be an effective remedy that solved the problem. From this fact, women conclude that Mastodinon, like any other homeopathic remedy, has an individual effect, and therefore it helps some and not others.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the campaign to discredit Mastodinon, during which information is being disseminated that the drug is banned in Europe and the USA because it causes the growth of fibroids and endometrial pathology, and is generally not a medicine with proven effectiveness. This information causes an emotional reaction in women, and they leave negative reviews about Mastodinon, motivated by the fact that pharmaceutical companies are conducting experiments on them.

However, in reality everything is not so simple. Indeed, from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine, all homeopathic medicines do not have clearly proven effectiveness, but this does not mean that it does not exist at all. In addition, homeopathic remedies in the USA and Europe are not classified as medicines, so they are sold in pharmacies without prescriptions, like vitamins or dietary supplements. But there is no ban on these drugs anywhere, and they are used in a variety of situations, not only for the direct indications specified in the instructions, and this is done in all countries - Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the USA and Europe. After all, everywhere there is a group of so-called off-label prescriptions, that is, conditions in which doctors prescribe this or that drug for a reason not specified in the instructions and based on their own conclusions and assumptions, and not evidence of its effectiveness. Moreover, in many cases, a person feels better and his quality of life increases while taking a drug with unproven effectiveness.

The compatibility of Mastodinon and alcohol is unacceptable when it comes to the treatment of mastopathy. An effective homeopathic remedy can, with such an interaction, completely lose its therapeutic effect on the pathological process. Side effects in the form of digestive system disorders, allergic reactions and dysfunction of the nervous system can interfere with the patient’s recovery.

Mastodinon is one of the most effective homeopathic medicines for the treatment of mastopathy (according to reviews from doctors and patients), which includes a complex of medicinal plants (twig, cohosh, tiger lily, chestnut, alpine violet).

The drug is available in the form of drops (contains ethyl alcohol) and tablets. The most convenient treatment method is selected for each patient. This drug is preferably prescribed to women who have not yet reached the age of forty.

In the process of long-term therapy (from three months to six months), the disturbed hormonal balance in the woman’s body is restored. The secretion of prolactin decreases, and the production of estrogen increases. This leads to a decrease in the proliferation of fibrous tissue in the mammary gland and a decrease in pain.

The positive effect of the drug for premenstrual syndrome is manifested in the elimination of pain in the lower abdomen and lower back, reducing headaches and emotional instability.

Consequences of combining the drug with alcohol

During a long period of treatment with a homeopathic remedy, situations often arise when holidays or significant dates cause the need to drink alcohol. It should be noted that in such cases, even in the absence of adverse effects, the health-improving effect of treatment with the drug may be completely neutralized. This will inevitably manifest itself in increased discomfort and pain in the chest.

Combining Mastodinon with alcohol is also contraindicated because all homeopathic remedies affect the body at the cellular level. Taking alcoholic beverages of various strengths (beer is no exception) causes disruption of the subtle mechanisms of the influence of the medicinal complex on the disease process. Side effects of the drug may occur, which under normal conditions occur extremely rarely.

Women who take the risk of drinking alcohol during treatment will waste all their efforts. A sharp deterioration in health can manifest itself in the form of:

  • pain in the occipital or frontal region of the head, which can take on a paroxysmal nature;
  • impaired coordination of movements, stability and balance;
  • the appearance of nausea, abdominal pain;
  • development of inflammatory changes in the digestive tract (pancreatitis, gastritis, enterocolitis);
  • the appearance of allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes or difficulty breathing;
  • increased neurotic disorders, tendency to faint.

The basis of treatment for benign fibrocystic breast disease is drug treatment. Mastodinon for mastopathy provides an optimal non-hormonal effect on glandular tissue, eliminating unpleasant symptoms and creating conditions for recovery. The herbal preparation must be taken for a long time to obtain the maximum therapeutic effect.

Composition of the drug

The complex of herbs that make up Mastodinon is optimally selected for the effective correction of female problems. The main plant with the best medicinal effect is Vitex sacred (Vintex vulgare). It is this herb that provides the main non-hormonal effect for mastopathy. In addition to Vitex, the composition of the drug includes:

  • alpine violet or cyclamen;
  • iris variegated (Iris);
  • Basil foliage cohosh;
  • bitter milkweed or chilibukha;
  • tiger lily.

Mastodinon drops contain ethanol alcohol; tablets contain excipients - starch, lactose. The complex herbal remedy has a multifaceted effect on the woman’s body, relieving the symptoms of mastopathy and complementing the main course of treatment.

Positive properties

The main advantages of Mastodinon are safety and effectiveness. The non-hormonal drug has the following positive properties:

  • direct effect on the brain’s production of the neurotransmitter Dopamine, which affects the hormonal function of the pituitary gland and eliminates psychological disorders in women;
  • reduction of elevated levels of Prolactin, which is one of the main factors in the formation of fibrocystic mastopathy;
  • support for the functioning of the ovaries in phase 2 with a moderate increase in Progesterone levels.

The herbal composition of the drug has minimal negative effects on the female body, which becomes the main safety factor. Efficiency is ensured by Prutnyak, which affects the functioning of brain structures and has maximum therapeutic effect.

Indications for therapy

The drug has a pronounced effect on the woman’s body, so Mastodinon drops or tablets should be taken as prescribed by a doctor for the following indications:

  • mammalgia;
  • mastalgia;
  • diffuse glandular cystic mastopathy;
  • fibrocystic disease;
  • moderately severe hyperprolactinemia;
  • cyclic disorders caused by progesterone deficiency;
  • premenstrual tension syndrome with severe irritability, anxiety and psychological disorders;
  • complex treatment of infertility.

Monotherapy for mastopathy with Mastodinon will not always help eliminate the symptoms of the pathology and reduce the risk of complications. It is advisable to follow your doctor’s recommendations using a combination of medications for the treatment of fibrocystic mastopathy.

Contraindications for use

You should not take tablets or drink Mastodinon drops in the following cases:
  • carrying a pregnancy;
  • lactation;
  • childhood and adolescence;
  • allergic reactions to a complex drug;
  • nodular mastopathy with proliferation of glandular cells;
  • mammary cancer.

It is unacceptable to treat with Mastodinon without first consulting a doctor: the herbal remedy has a strong effect on the organs and systems of the female body, which is confirmed by rare side effects:

  • nausea;
  • headache;
  • unexplained pain in the abdomen;
  • acne;
  • psychoemotional disorders with agitation and hallucinations.

It is the direct effect of Mastodinon on the brain that has a rare negative effect on the female body. If necessary, due to intolerance to the herbal preparation, the doctor can replace Mastodinon drops or tablets with another medicine that will lower Prolactin levels or affect ovarian function.

Treatment regimen

Herbal medicine for mastopathy should be taken as prescribed by the doctor according to the following scheme.

Mastopathy is a disease of the mammary glands when benign formations develop in one or both breasts, the size and density of which can vary, and are often painful. The main symptoms of mastopathy include pain in the mammary gland, the appearance of areas of compaction in the breast tissue, lymph nodes in the armpit area enlarge, the volume of the mammary gland also increases, discharge from the nipples appears, and nodes form.

As for the causes of mastopathy, the reasons may be different. One of the most common causes is excessive alcohol consumption. Of course, a healthy lifestyle in general is very important. You need to eat right, reduce the amount of fat and increase the amount of fiber, limit your salt intake, avoid stress, choose and wear good bras. You should not get carried away with hormonal contraceptives, be sure to regularly conduct breast self-examination and not drink or smoke. Alcoholic drinks have a very negative impact on human health in general, so their consumption should be reduced as much as possible, and if you can drink, then in moderation.

Almost all scientists in the world who deal with the problems of mastopathy, conducting research, prove the negative effects of alcohol on the breast. However, the risk is much lower if the dose is no more than two servings per day. In a matter such as drinking alcohol, it is important to choose something in between and never get carried away with alcohol. Studies were conducted in the USA and Australia that revealed an interesting trend - women who drank alcohol and took folic acid every day, replenishing the body with the appropriate norm, had absolutely no high risk of breast disease. Therefore, while occasionally drinking a couple of glasses of red wine, it is better to take folic acid every day, for example, in the form of special tablets.

However, it is best to structure your daily diet to include a good portion of a natural source of folic acid: broccoli, lettuce, spinach, orange juice and peas. Other American scientists have proven in research that alcohol consumption significantly affects the risk of developing mastopathy in girls and women. The study was conducted between 1996 and 2007, and involved about 7 thousand girls from fifty states of the country. Women were asked questions about how much alcohol they consumed, as well as questions about diagnosis of mastopathy or other breast diseases. It turned out that the development of mastopathy directly depends on the volume of alcohol consumption. For example, women who drank alcohol during the week were five and a half times more likely to develop breast disease compared to those who drank only once a week. Drinking alcohol up to five times a week greatly increases the risk of mastopathy.

As you know, mastopathy can lead to cancer, so it is important to note that alcohol not only affects the development of mastopathy, but can also contribute to the development of cancer. If someone thinks that the effect of drinking alcohol on breast cancer is not significant, then this is a mistaken opinion. There is a connection between them, and this connection is real and quite close. The head of the European Institute of Oncology reports that any alcoholic beverages increase the risk of mastopathy and breast cancer. It should be noted that beer, considered a harmless drink by most people, is also a real threat to women's health. At the same time, previous studies were also aimed at establishing a connection between alcoholic beverages and breast diseases, but it was not possible to determine the degree of risk of the disease from the type of alcoholic drink consumed by a woman.

However, modern studies have proven that any alcoholic beverages, of any strength, that are regularly consumed by female representatives significantly increase the risk of mastopathy and cancer, compared with women who completely abstain from drinking alcohol. How exactly alcohol affects women’s breasts, causing mastopathy, is not yet reliably known. To a greater extent, scientists are inclined to believe that when consuming alcoholic beverages of any strength, the level of female sex hormones in a woman’s body sharply increases, which negatively affects the health of her breasts. Today this reason is considered one of the main ones in this matter. Thus, every woman should take into account that stopping drinking alcohol is an important point in the prevention of mastopathy.

Many women whose hormonal levels suffer from a lack of corpus luteum are familiar with the drug Mastodinon. The homeopathic remedy stabilizes the menstrual cycle, relieves premenstrual syndrome and treats diseases of the mammary glands. Sometimes situations arise when it is difficult to refuse a glass of wine or champagne. And a girl (woman) may be interested: is it possible to combine Mastodinon and alcohol? What could be the consequences and how will this combination affect your health?

Description of the medicine

Hormonal disorders in the female body are a prerequisite for prescribing the homeopathic remedy Mastodinon. The product is available in the form of tablets or drops. All ingredients of the medicine are of natural origin, but it is recommended to completely avoid alcohol during treatment.

Important: Mastodinon drops contain ethanol, and therefore are not prescribed to patients with a history of chronic alcoholism.

Tableting the drug does not reduce its therapeutic effect; the therapeutic effect of taking the drug in this form does not suffer. Women with liver disease should take Mastodinon drops with extreme caution.

Action of Mastodinon

The homeopathic medicine works as follows:

  1. decreased production of the hormone prolactin by affecting the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland;
  2. reduction of pathological processes in the mammary glands;
  3. preventing the development of fibrocystic type of mastopathy;
  4. regulation of menstruation, relief from PMS.

The therapeutic effect occurs 3-3.5 months from the start of the course, but the total duration of treatment is at least 6 months.

Indications for taking the drug:

  • complex treatment of premenstrual syndrome;
  • fibrocystic mastopathy;
  • cycle disorders;
  • infertility of hormonal etiology;
  • other women's diseases.

Mastodinon has virtually no side effects; in rare cases, patients complain of allergies: rash, redness and itching of the skin.

  • girls under 12 years of age;
  • nursing and pregnant women;
  • persons with individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Important: the contraindications listed above apply to all homeopathic medicines.

Mastodinon is not prescribed to women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Diet for treatment with homeopathic compounds

Many homeopathic medicines clearly state that alcohol is incompatible with them. This restriction also applies to products that may contain a trace amount of alcohol:

  • sausages;
  • kefir;
  • cakes and other confectionery products;
  • kvass, etc.

Important: you must remove the above foods from your diet in advance, 1-2 days before starting the homeopathic course of Mastodinon.

Interaction between Mastodinon and alcohol

Tobacco and ethanol are enemies not only of female charm, but also of health. To preserve youth and the ability to bear children, you should not get involved in alcoholic beverages and smoking.

Homeopathy is a complex science, one of the concepts of which is antidotes. Antidotes are substances that make a homeopathic remedy ineffective. One of these antidotes is alcohol and its breakdown products. It suppresses the therapeutic effectiveness of Mastodinon, preventing the medicine from healing diseased organs and systems.

The liver, which is already under stress from exposure to the drug, is forced to repel the attack of ethanol. Alcohol can even destroy a previously healthy organ, taking into account individual characteristics and the duration of use of homeopathic remedies.

Alcohol is prohibited throughout the entire period of therapy. No one can guarantee a neutral reaction between its interaction with the drug. Some skeptics may note: Mastodinon drops already include ethanol, what happens when mixing it with an additional portion?

The answer is simple: homeopaths develop such proportions of the active substance and ethanol that only enhance the therapeutic effectiveness of all components. A higher concentration of alcohol can lead to dire consequences:

  • general intoxication of the body;
  • liver diseases;
  • other negative manifestations.

Important: even homeopaths themselves do not fully know the possible reactions of the body, weakened by hormonal dysfunctions, to taking alcohol-containing liquids!

Alcohol and treatment are incompatible; this must be clearly remembered and observed.
